Comedy Shows in Chicago, IL

Zanies in Old Town and the Laugh Factory on Broadway are working standup clubs, and they are the right rooms for a weekend bill with a host and an opener. Their tickets are sold at the clubs. The shows collected here are the larger bookings: The Chicago Theatre on State Street, House of Blues in Marina City, Thalia Hall in Pilsen, the Vic and the Riviera farther north, the Athenaeum, the Auditorium, Wintrust Arena, the United Center, and the Arie Crown at McCormick Place. That is a wide set of rooms, from a neighborhood hall to an arena, and the comic is usually on a tour that also plays other cities. A Thalia Hall date and a United Center date should not be planned the same way. One is a neighborhood evening. The other is an arena ticket.

If you want the club set, start with Zanies. If you want the seated downtown show or the big room, use this list and read the venue before you travel. The Chicago Theatre and House of Blues are central. Pilsen and the North Side rooms are not.

Tour dates land on this calendar as they go on sale. The FindStandup alert on this page emails you when another Chicago show is posted.
